Carrick (An Charraig)   Carrick (An Charraig -Meaning "the Rock" ) is a little village set on good land above Teelin Bay on the Glen River. This mountain village is an ideal centre for exploring the magnificent scenery of the adjoining coast and an excellent base for climbing the remarkable Sliabh Liag (Slieve League), which rises some 600m from the sea, forming the highest marine cliff in Europe. Carrick area may be described as a painters paradise, with its mountains and valleys, beaches and bays. It is also popular amongst the keenest of anglers with many lakes and rivers where there is an abundance of salmon and wild brown trout whilst hillwalkers, scuba divers, canoeists and pony trekkers can also avail of the perfect surroundings and excellent facilities.
